Gourd, New Guinea Butter Vine
|Gourd, New Guinea Butter Vine, Packet (Qty 1)||$2.59|
Here's a squash-like novelty that produces long, curly specimens. Pick the young fruits at about 10 inches and fry them like eggplants. More mature fruits can be prepared like summer squash -- try them stuffed and baked. Easy to grow! Mature in 100 days.
Planting guide: Plant seed on edge 1 inch deep, close to poles or trellis. Thin to 2 plants in a hill and hills 3 feet apart. Plant in a sunny location. Seed can also be started indoors for an earlier harvest.
These items are useful when starting seeds indoors for transplanting:
Jiffy-7 Peat Pellets
Peat Pots, 2 1/4" round
Peat Pots, 3" round
3" square pots
4 1/2" round pots
For protecting your transplants against late, unexpected frosts choose between Hotkaps plant protectors and Wall O' Water plant protectors.
Everything you need to get your plants off to a great start!
