Evergreen

Evergreen shrubs keep their foliage over winter and provide much-needed color during the winter months and early spring. Daphne, gardenia, firethorn and cranberry are some popular evergreen bushes to plant in gardens and landscapes. Many evergreen shrubs may also flower or produce berries. Evergreen shrubs can be planted as accent plants or massed together. Some low-growing shrubs can even be planted as ground cover. When selecting evergreen bushes to buy, make sure they are suitable for your hardiness zone. Other considerations are their light requirements (full sun, partial shade or full shade), soil requirements, mature height and spread, bloom time, maintenance requirements and other factors.
