This beautiful native shrub makes an excellent ornamental specimen or hedge. Its fragrant white flowers in the spring are attractive to pollinators. It has striking glossy green foliage that starts out red in the spring. The shrubs grow 4-6′ tall and wide and are evergreen in warmer areas. The sweet juicy fruit can be eaten fresh and used to make sauces and preserves. Songbirds love them too! Self-pollinating.
