I bought a bunch of these to make a hedge with last fall and so far, they are growing beautifully. I was worried when I first got them because it had already gotten so cold here. (The sun doesn't touch any part of our yard here from about midway through September, all the way into late February. Most days during this time, there is a 10-15 degree difference between our yard and the yard directly across the road from us, because the sun still shines over there.) But when this spring got started, these tough little guys started leafing out (even though the deer ate a couple of them to the ground during the winter)! We've even had a few blooms this year, and they were gorgeous. They have put on a lot of growth so far this summer and my hedge is filling in nicely. I'm actually waiting for them to come back in stock/in season so I can grab a few more.
