Olympic Giant Asian Pear Tree

Olympic Giant Asian Pear Tree

Hands-down, this is one of the best Asian pears we've tried. Its round, golden fruits are huge, often weighing 1 pound or more—and they have a flavor to match their size. The extra juicy, crisp fruits are sweet with hints of butterscotch. They're great for slicing and eating fresh and in fruit salads. We like them baked into pies and cobblers. You can enjoy the fruits for a long time, too—they hold their flavor for up to 6 months in storage. Olympic Giant Asian Pear's super hardy trees begin bearing fruit in their third year, and they require no sprays. Fruits ripen in mid to late October. 700 chill hours are required for a successful harvest. Zones 5-8.
